01Agreement to these terms
By using this website or sending an order request, you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy, Refund, and Shipping policies. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to place an order request.
02The site and the catalog
The site presents assembled, unpainted wooden beehive components and complete sets built around the 10-frame Langstroth layout. The diagrams on the site are illustrations drawn to explain the pieces; they are not photographs of your exact items. Wood is a natural material, so grain, colour, and small knots will vary from piece to piece.
Frames, foundation, bees, stands, paint, and tools are not included in any listing unless we confirm otherwise in writing.
03Order requests are not instant sales
Adding items to the bag and sending the order form creates a request, not a binding sale. A contract is formed only when we confirm your order by email and you accept our confirmation, including the final total and payment instructions. Until then we may decline, limit, or adjust a request, for example because stock is short, an address is outside our delivery area, or a listing contains an error.
04Prices and estimates
Prices on the site are shown in US dollars and are starting estimates for the scope described on each listing. They do not include freight, handling beyond what is stated, or taxes where they apply. The starting total shown in the bag is a convenience, and the amount in your confirmation email is the amount that applies. We may change prices at any time before an order is confirmed.
05Payment
Payment instructions are sent with the confirmation email. This site does not collect card numbers or other payment credentials. We will not ask you to pay through an unrelated third party; if you receive a message that appears to come from us asking for payment in an unexpected way, contact us on the phone number shown on this site before paying.
06Product scope and your responsibilities
You are responsible for checking that the pieces you choose suit your equipment and your plans. We do not guarantee that our boxware fits equipment from other makers unless we confirm the fit in writing. You are responsible for finishing the wood, assembling the stack, selecting a safe and level location, and following any registration, placement, or other rules that apply where you keep bees.
07No beekeeping advice or outcomes
We make and sell woodenware. We do not give beekeeping, medical, or legal advice, and we do not promise colony health, survival, honey yield, or any other outcome. Beekeeping carries risks, including stings and allergic reactions; use appropriate protective equipment and seek professional guidance if you are unsure.
08Safe handling
Boxes can be heavy once they are full, and lifting them can cause injury. Use proper lifting technique and help where needed. Unfinished wood can contain splinters, so handle it with care.
09Acceptable use of the site
You agree not to use the site to break the law, submit false or misleading information, interfere with its operation, attempt to gain unauthorised access, send automated or abusive submissions, or copy the site at scale. We may block access that we reasonably believe breaches these terms.
10Intellectual property
The site design, text, illustrations, logo, and other content belong to COLO STONE GROUP LLC or its licensors and are protected by law. You may view and print pages for your own use in connection with a purchase. You may not reproduce or distribute site content for other purposes without our written permission.
11Third-party services
The site relies on third-party services such as Google Fonts and, when you ship, carriers. We are not responsible for the content or practices of third parties.
12Disclaimer of warranties
The site is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Nothing in these terms removes any right you have under law that cannot be waived.
13Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, COLO STONE GROUP LLC and its members and personnel are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, honey, bees, or colonies, arising from use of the site or products. Our total liability for any claim relating to a product is limited to the amount you paid for that product. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
14Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, losses, and reasonable costs arising from your misuse of the site, your breach of these terms, or your use of products in a way they were not designed for.
15Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Before starting any formal proceeding, please contact us so that we can try to resolve the matter informally. Subject to any rights you have that cannot be waived, the state and federal courts serving Fayette County, Kentucky have jurisdiction over disputes.
16Changes and general terms
We may update these terms, and the version on this page on the date you send a request applies to it. If a provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. These terms, together with our policies and any order confirmation, are the entire agreement between you and us about the site and your order.
